AI VIDEO GLOSSARY

AI Video Glossary: Every Term You'll See on PlayVideo.AI

A plain-English dictionary of the models, modes, and concepts behind AI video — from text-to-video and lip-sync to Kling V3.0 4K and Runway Gen-4. Every entry links to the page where you can actually use it.

#

#4K resolution

Video output at roughly 3840×2160 pixels — four times the pixel count of 1080p HD.

4K is the highest output resolution available on PlayVideo.AI today, delivered through the Kling V3.0 4K model. Most other generators top out at 1080p and require a separate upscaling step. Use 4K when the video will be viewed on large screens, projected, or used in print/paid ad contexts where compression artifacts are obvious.

Related: Upscaling, Kling V3.0 4K, Aspect ratio

A

#AI Avatar (AvatarFX)

Effect that animates a still portrait into a talking, head-moving avatar driven by audio.

AvatarFX takes a single portrait and a voice track and produces a natural-looking talking head. Great for explainer videos, faceless channels, and personalized cold outreach. Available as a one-click effect on /effects/avatar.

Try AvatarFX

Related: Lip-sync (AI lip-sync), AI voices, Talking head

Related: Voice dubbing, Lip-sync (AI lip-sync), Voice cloning

#Aspect ratio

The width-to-height ratio of a video frame. Determines where the clip will look right.

PlayVideo.AI supports 9:16 (Reels/Shorts/TikTok), 16:9 (YouTube), 1:1 (feed posts), 4:3, 3:4, and 21:9 (cinematic). Pick the ratio before generating — re-cropping a different ratio loses information.

Related: 4K resolution, Frame rate (fps)

C

#Cinematic motion

Camera-style movement — slow dollies, smooth tilts, racking focus — produced inside the model.

Triggered by camera-language prompts ("slow dolly in", "low-angle tracking shot"). Strongest in WAN 2.7 and Kling V3.0 4K. The model decides the motion — there's no separate camera rig.

Related: Prompt, WAN 2.7, Kling V3.0 4K

#Clip duration

How long a single generation runs. PlayVideo.AI supports up to 15 seconds per generation.

Longer pieces are built by chaining clips with video extension. Most models look best in the 5–10s range; longer single shots can drift in composition.

Related: Video extension (extend video), Frame rate (fps)

#Credits

Generation budget consumed by each render. Models cost different amounts.

Premium models (4K, longer clips) cost more credits than fast general-purpose models. Top up via /pricing. The free tier includes credits to try every model without a card.

Related: Generation queue

D

#Dance AI

Effect that animates any photo with realistic dance motion transfer.

Driven by reference dance videos — the model copies pose-by-pose motion onto your subject. See /effects/dance-ai.

Related: Motion transfer, AI Pet Dance

E

#ElevenLabs

Third-party AI voice provider. PlayVideo.AI bundles ElevenLabs-grade voices natively.

Many creators wire ElevenLabs to a separate video tool. PlayVideo.AI ships AI voices and voice dubbing in-product so you don't need a second subscription.

Related: AI voices, Voice dubbing, Voice cloning

#Extend video

Continue an existing clip past its original duration without regenerating from scratch.

See video extension.

Related: Video extension (extend video)

F

#Frame rate (fps)

How many frames per second the output plays at. 24fps is cinematic, 30fps is standard, 60fps is smooth motion.

Most PlayVideo.AI models render at 24 or 30fps. Higher frame rates look smoother but cost more credits and exaggerate motion artifacts.

Related: Clip duration, Cinematic motion

G

#Generation queue

The shared in-app queue that processes every render — text-to-video, effects, voice, lip-sync.

Submitting a job adds it to the queue and you can keep working while it renders. The same queue handles all five effect pipelines plus chained voice/lip-sync steps, so dependent jobs run in the right order automatically.

Related: Credits, Lip-sync (AI lip-sync)

H

#Happy Horse 1.0

Stylized PlayVideo.AI model tuned for playful, animated, high-energy looks.

Best for fun social content, kid-friendly animations, and stylized ads. Not the right pick when you need photoreal output — use Kling V3.0 4K or Seedance 2.0 for realism.

Related: Revolution 2.0, Stylization

I

#Image-to-video

Generate video that starts from a still image you provide, instead of from text alone.

Lets you control the look exactly — character, lighting, framing — before the model adds motion. The opposite of text-to-video, which builds everything from a prompt. Both modes are available on /create-video.

Try image-to-video

Related: Text-to-video, Prompt, Video extension (extend video)

K

#Kling V3.0 4K

Highest-fidelity video model on PlayVideo.AI. Native 4K output, strong on detail and texture.

Pick Kling V3.0 4K when you need print-grade or large-screen quality. Costs more credits per second than general-purpose models. Compares favorably against Runway Gen-4 on detail and resolves fine textures (skin, fabric, foliage) better at native 4K.

Generate in 4K

Related: 4K resolution, Seedance 2.0, Pro 2.0, Runway Gen-4

L

#Lip-sync (AI lip-sync)

Aligning a subject's mouth movement to an audio track so the speech looks natural.

PlayVideo.AI's lip-sync drives the mouth from any audio file or AI-generated voice. Used inside AvatarFX, AI Singing, and as a standalone step on existing clips.

Related: AI voices, AI Avatar (AvatarFX), Voice dubbing

M

#Motion transfer

Copying motion from a reference video onto a still subject (a photo of a person, pet, or object).

The technique behind Dance AI, AI Pet Dance, and parts of AI Singing. Different from text/image-to-video — the motion comes from a real reference, not from a prompt.

Related: Dance AI, AI Pet Dance, AI Singing effect

N

#Negative prompt

Tells the model what to avoid in the output (extra fingers, blur, watermarks, certain styles).

Use sparingly — too many negatives can starve the model of context and make output worse. Common entries: "low quality, distorted face, extra limbs, text on screen".

Related: Prompt, Seed

O

#OpenAI Sora

OpenAI's text-to-video model. Often the reference point in AI video comparisons.

Strong all-rounder, but gated behind a ChatGPT subscription. See PlayVideo.AI vs OpenAI Sora for the full breakdown. PlayVideo.AI gives you Kling V3.0 4K, Seedance 2.0, and Pro 2.0 in one open-access account, which lets you pick the right model per shot.

Related: Runway Gen-4, Pika, Kling V3.0 4K

#Original Ultra

PlayVideo.AI's flagship general-purpose model. Balanced quality, motion, and prompt fidelity.

A strong default when you don't want to overthink the model choice. Sits between the fast Pro 2.0 and the high-fidelity Kling V3.0 4K.

Related: Pro 2.0, Kling V3.0 4K, Seedance 2.0

P

#Pika

Third-party AI video generator. Sometimes compared head-to-head with PlayVideo.AI.

See PlayVideo.AI vs Pika for the direct head-to-head, or the comparison hub for all competitors. Short version: Pika is strong on stylized animation; PlayVideo.AI bundles more models and native 4K.

See full comparison

Related: Runway Gen-4, OpenAI Sora, Kling V3.0 4K

#Pro 2.0

Fast, reliable general-purpose PlayVideo.AI model. The recommended default for most prompts.

Lower credit cost, fast turnaround, works well across text-to-video and image-to-video. Use Pro 2.0 first; switch to Kling V3.0 4K or Seedance 2.0 only when the shot needs their specialty.

Generate with Pro 2.0

Related: Original Ultra, Seedance 2.0, Kling V3.0 4K

#Prompt

The text instruction you give the model describing what to generate.

Good prompts include subject, action, environment, lighting, lens, and motion direction. Example: "a snow leopard padding across a frozen lake at dawn, soft side-lighting, 35mm cinematic, slow tracking shot". See also negative prompt.

Related: Negative prompt, Seed, Cinematic motion

R

#Revolution 2.0

PlayVideo.AI model tuned for stylized, animated, and surreal looks.

Use when you want the output to feel illustrated, painterly, or dream-like rather than photoreal. Pairs well with stylized prompts.

Related: Happy Horse 1.0, Stylization

#Runway Gen-4

Third-party AI video generator from Runway. Strong on cinematic motion; pricier and 1080p-capped.

Direct head-to-head: see PlayVideo.AI vs Runway Gen-4. Short version: PlayVideo.AI is cheaper, has no watermark on free output, ships native 4K, and bundles 10+ models — Runway has the deeper timeline editor.

See full comparison

Related: OpenAI Sora, Pika, Kling V3.0 4K

S

#Seed

A number that locks the model's randomness so a prompt produces the same output twice.

Use a fixed seed when you want to iterate on prompt wording without re-rolling the random variation, or when you need to reproduce a generation later.

Related: Prompt, Negative prompt

#Seedance 2.0

PlayVideo.AI model best known for natural, physically-plausible motion realism.

Closest match to Runway Gen-4 motion at a lower price point. Use Seedance 2.0 when realistic body mechanics, walking, or hand interaction matter more than fine texture.

Generate with Seedance

Related: Kling V3.0 4K, Pro 2.0, Runway Gen-4

#Stylization

How far the output drifts from photoreal toward illustrated, painterly, or surreal looks.

Driven by the model choice (Revolution 2.0, Happy Horse 1.0) and by style cues in the prompt ("Studio Ghibli", "oil painting", "cyberpunk").

Related: Revolution 2.0, Happy Horse 1.0, Prompt

#Suno

Third-party AI music generator. PlayVideo.AI ships its own AI background music in-product.

Most workflows that wire Suno to a separate video tool can be collapsed into PlayVideo.AI's built-in AI background music.

Related: AI background music, ElevenLabs

T

#Talking head

Video format where a single person speaks directly to camera — narration, explainers, vlogs.

The native fit for AvatarFX: combine a portrait, a voice, and a script and you have a faceless or AI-presented talking head.

Related: AI Avatar (AvatarFX), Lip-sync (AI lip-sync), AI voices

#Text-to-video

Generating a video clip from a written prompt only — no reference image required.

The classic AI video mode. Best for original scenes you don't have footage of. If you want to lock the look of the subject first, use image-to-video instead.

Try text-to-video

Related: Image-to-video, Prompt, Negative prompt

U

#Upscaling

Increasing a video's resolution after generation — e.g. 1080p → 4K — without re-rendering.

PlayVideo.AI bundles built-in upscaling so you can generate fast at 1080p and finish at 4K. Competing tools usually charge separate credits or require a third-party tool.

Related: 4K resolution, Kling V3.0 4K

V

#Video extension (extend video)

Continue an existing clip past its original length, picking up from the last frame.

The standard way to build longer pieces — generate a 10-second clip, extend by another 10s, and so on. Each extension is its own generation step that pulls from the previous clip's final frames for continuity.

Related: Clip duration, Image-to-video

#Voice cloning

Generating speech in a specific person's voice from a short audio sample.

Underpins voice dubbing when you want the dubbed track to keep the original speaker's voice. PlayVideo.AI requires consent before cloning a voice — see our policies on /safety.

Related: Voice dubbing, AI voices, ElevenLabs

#Voice dubbing

Translating spoken audio into another language while keeping the original voice and lip motion.

Combines voice cloning and lip-sync so a video plays naturally in a second language. Available on /ai-voice-dubbing.

Related: Voice cloning, AI voices, Lip-sync (AI lip-sync)

W

#WAN 2.7

PlayVideo.AI model tuned for long camera moves, crowd scenes, and complex environments.

Use when the shot calls for sustained camera motion (drone fly-bys, dolly shots) or many subjects in frame. For close-up character work, Kling V3.0 4K or Seedance 2.0 typically win.

Related: Cinematic motion, Kling V3.0 4K, Seedance 2.0

#Watermark

A visible logo overlaid on generated video. PlayVideo.AI does not watermark output on any tier.

Some competitors stamp a logo on free-tier output. PlayVideo.AI ships clean video on free and paid tiers — videos can go straight to social or paid ads.
